Tasks & Activities
I searched and didn't find an answer so I'm sorry if this has been covered before.
I'm just getting started with Projects and see there are both "Tasks" and "Activities" in a Project. I'm familiar with Activities, but I'm getting stumped on Tasks. I can see you can:
- Create a Task
- Assign it to someone and
- Give it a due date.
- How does the person know?
- How do they see all the tasks they have due on a certain date outside of scanning the whole project?
Essentially, what is the purpose of a Task? It seems like the main difference between a Task and an Activity is that Activities get scheduled on someone's calendar and Tasks don't. If we want both to get done, I'm not sure why I would use a Task.
Can someone help me out?
