Contact details update form

Hi! Looking to suggest functionality whereby each contact would have a unique and secure URL to access a web form, allowing the contact to update/edit their own contact details. Admin would set which fields were editable/accessible by the contact.

This will assist in a ’new client’ workflow by reducing data input and also GDPR compliance by ensuring contact details are always up to date.

    So you'd like for each client to be able to have a secure access to their own record in your Pipedrive account? Is this something they are requesting. Is this necessary in a specific industry? Or is it just for generic GDPR reasons?

    How do they know update their contact details with you?

    I'm presuming he means for outgoing emails – but would be interesting to know what Jack meant...

    Yes, or perhaps even just a webform functionality to update their record (rather than create a new one)?

    I'm new to Pipedrive but finding it one of the best for contact management so far, out of the CRM's that I've tried. For me, I want to increase automation within my client management processes and ensure GDPR compliance. I have a zapier/jotform for new client registration but to amend existing clients details is currently quite a manual and labour intensive process.

    If there was a way to send my clients a link for them to update their own details, it would be great.

    Interested to hear your thoughts if this would be possible?

    I hadn't thought of this Alex but perhaps the dynamic client URL could optionally be included on outgoing emails to contacts, providing a visual reminder if they have recently changed their details and making the process simple.

    So currently there's no option to do this unfortunately @Jack Watson 

    I'll pass on your suggestion but to be honest I have not seen a request like this before. Perhaps you can still use your existing solution but weekly/monthly check our the "merge duplicates" feature. Here you'll find contacts with matching names and you can then merge them in case other information changed.

    In case of marriage and name change you'd have to manually update this unfortunately.

    @Mike van der Valk Just to jump on here as well, my compliance manager has also asked about this functionality for enabling customers to update their own details, so would like to know if this will be added to the roadmap in the future.
