Auto triggering a label when an email has be received and unviewed

Our company uses one singular email as funnel for ease of customer access to reach out to us and not be passed around by multiple sales people.

I want my sales team to function exclusively in the deals and activities tab to operate with the deals that were assigned to them and not have to worry about other sales reps deals; however, there is no way as of right now to know if the customer responded to their email without looking in the mail tab which shows every deal.

What I am proposing is some sort of auto assigned label that shows from the deals icon when a message has been received and not viewed, then auto removed when the message has been received. This would function just like the mail tab but in the deal overview tab, allowing my sales reps to only concern themselves with the deals assigned to them.
