Best practices for deals to come back to
A lot of the deals I deal with are education based and so seasonal and sometimes there are deals that I want to come back to, but not for 3-6 months (or more). I don't want to mark the deal as lost, because it's not yet lost, and I also want to keep all the deal history, which would seem to rule out converting the deal to a lead. But, I don't want all these deals visible on the main pipeline. Is there any other option or best practice for this?

You shouldn't be worried about deals showing up in the deals pipeline. The system is working exactly how it is supposed to.
