What would be very useful for me would be open and click through ratio's on emails done from automations and just in general.

I have good news, as we plan to have this feature out within a month.
We've also recently acquired Mailigen, which specializes in email marketing and does all that and more. We're working as we speak to have it flow seamlessly with Pipedrive, so I suggest you check it out here and create a free trial here.
