Markdown shortcuts in notes

In longer notes, the text formatter goes off the screen. This makes formatting very hard (and I think impossible for links?).
Many apps are now supporting Markdown shortcuts to allow the benefits of markdown without breaking current workflows. Even if we just had markdown shortcuts for link, bullet, and bold, it'd go a long way in easier note writing.
