Where did the UP and DOWN arrow go in the email thread?

Wasn´t it easier to quickly go through unread email likes this?

Now we have to go back on every email to the overview and then in again on new emails. Before it was possible to quickly go up or down.

Will this come back? Or what was the idea of removing this feature :)
