We are currently using Better proposals for our agreements and better proposals allows us to present options for clients to choose from. Is that possible using the built in smart docs feature for a contract? A description of how that would be done using pipedrive smart docs would be helpful and appreciated. Thank you

I'm not sure what you are needing a description of exactly that's not in the documentation but I use it for contracts all the time.

You create templates with data fields that are populated specifically to the deal when a document is generated.

So name, address, products, deal value and any custom fields get populated automatically.

It's probably not as feature rich as service's that are specific to proposal generation but it cover's all the basic functionality for sure.

Only thing I don't like is you have to manually add the initial and signature box for each request, they don't stick to the template.

    Hey @Pipedrive User 164 👋

That should be doable with our Smart Docs!

As Josh explained, you can create templates that generate a document using fields and for what you need, I'd say that some fields should apply to all proposals you are sending to that person, so fields like Person Name, etc would auto-populate.

Once that base template is done, you can generate a document from it and it will give you this:

With that, you could create 1 proposal at a time and then share them as a link. If one is picked you could then request signatures like this:

Hope this can provide some guidance on how to use Smart Docs!

@Andreia Costa Thanks for the reply. After spending a lot of time this past weekend with smart docs what I have determined is that to accommodate a client choosing one of two options that a field would need to be added where they identify which of the two they are choosing by filling out a text box identifying the choice by text. I suppose it would be possible to use a check box but I don't think there is a way to make the check boxes linked where they could only select one or the other. I think it's workable. Just not what I have been used to.
