Hello !

Having used quite a bit the email feature in Pipedrive, I want to underline that I would really like to be able to format my emails in Pipedrive mail  exactly as we can do it here  in this forum, with the tool bar and the same options (like inserting a table for example). I would also be happy to be able to switch to HTML view sometimes. Email formatting is weird in Pipedrive mail and setting up lists is almost unusable in a friendly manner. Also you can't resize images the size you want, you can't insert or built tables etc.. My feeling is you guys need to fix this ASAP. It is a must for Pipedrive or you will loose interest from Pipedrivers in using the email interface. I myself have been looking around for external email clients because of the above mentioned even when I really don't want to !

Thanks

    Bonjour Guillaume.

    1) Really just FYI: Pipedrive's email feature is driven by an external partner called Nylas. Using Nylas allows the programmers at Pipedrive to focus on UI without having to worry about the million-little-complications that come with email-management. Could the UI be improved? Yes, I completely agree with you, it could.

    2) I also completely agree that having HTML-level editing control would be great, and that other elements you mention would also be useful (image resizing, tables, etc).

    3) Since I don't have those tools in Pipedrive directly (which, again, would be nice), I choose to send/receive email through an email client on my computer (of which there are many, not hard to find one you will like). Copies of your messages, inbound and outbound, are automatically stored in PD. Do you do the same? I think of Pipedrive as my CRM, but I don't (personally, my humble opinion) expect my CRM to also be a world-class email editor.  Perhaps you do?

    4) Even if PD offered high-quality granular HTML editing in their email-editor, I bet I would continue to use my email client. Would you? What do you think?

I'd love to see Pipedrive up-their-game with the in-app email-editor, but I think we will have to convince them that using an external email client (which all their clients also have, often for free) is not "good enough".

    Hi @Guillaume

Thank you for your feedback, we've made sure it reaches our internal team for consideration. Additionally, we've enabled the new formatting options in your company's account, as discussed in another post.

Like @Joseph Valenti mentioned, Pipedrive is focused on being a great quality CRM, and trying to make replicate every single tool it syncs with would be impossible in terms of timing and also make the tool lose focus. That being said, we are open to our users' experience and welcome your feedback to think about how we can improve Pipedrive within this vision.

    Bonjour Joseph,

Thanks for your feedback. I do get all your points and agree on Pipedrive  focusing on core business but then... why offering a feature that to some point will not be developed with sounded bases ? Again just look at the editor we have here when posting, we don't need anything else than that. Nothing fancy. Just something predictable and easy formatting. About the email client, you are also right it can be used. I have myself tried several and sticked on eM-Client but I do want to work always staying inside Pipedrive. The back and forth between apps is time consuming and proper to mistakes. The all in one is a lot more practical. Remember that archiving in your email client for example won't archive in Pipedrive mail. The archiving management is different. That said I know Pipedrive is doing efforts on lots of things.

Note: I have also and might go back to Unibox App, people centered email management. Quite nice with interesting features but with no recent updates, I don't know why.

    @Joseph Valenti

I'm sorry, maybe it is cultural differences here, but I find your reply to be condescending and disrespectful.

"I bet I would continue to use my email client. Would you? What do you think?"

Who are you to tell us as longtime users of Pipedrive what features we should want and how to use the product?

Email integration into pipedrive is a feature that requires a premium tier.

Pipedrive is intended to provide a more efficient and streamlined process for my sales people.

To go to our email client in order to send a note and not use the Pipedrive email feature including templates refutes the value of efficiency and process.

We reiterate our request for robust email capabilities within the Pipedrive, email integration.

If Nylas is the impediment to making this happen, please get with your technology partner to drive these changes.

    Thank you,

HI guys, just coming into Pipedrive from hubSpot, and looking on how we can brand our trigger based mails, from this thread I'm understanding that from pipedrive can only send basic text mails? in case formatting its, a must-have for us, what should be the solution? manual its no solution, in our case we trigger the sale from a site of our own, and we need a nice mail to reach both parts, any ideas?

Hi @camilo casadiego , happy to have you with us!

You can either create a Workflow Automation combined with Email Templates, or if you're looking for something more complex I suggest Mailigen. Mailigen is a powerful email marketing and automation solution that allows you to create email sequences, drip campaigns, email marketing, SMS campaigns, among others.

With a native integration that syncs your contacts from Pipedrive, this is a powerful set of tools that bring Sales and Marketing teams together.

I can also tell you that in the coming months there might be interesting new features coming up in our Workflow Automations, so stay tuned. 😉
