LEAD - it would be helpful to have the ability to connect a new lead with an existing contact / org

Originally the idea is that after your lead converts to deal, the person/org gets added to your contacts. We're working on the ability to convert existing deals to leads and I'll pass on your suggestion regarding the contacts.
Hi @Mike van der Valk , I think many existing Piepdrive users love to see their existing data (contacts,...) to be re-used as leads. Leads w/o Contact->Lead conversion only makes sense if you setup a Pipedrive db from scratch imho. Also do not forget users that use LinkMatch or other tools that input contacts automatically. They will be reluctant to use leads as this means they need to input data manually (again).

Thanks for clarifying @Christian Finke I'll make sure your comments are seen by the team. One thing to know is that we're still working hard on improving the leads inbox. One thing will be to add more and more options to add new date to the leads inbox. We're working on API functionality that tools such as LinkMatch can connect directly to your leads inbox as well.

Perfect, thanks!

I think this idea works also as a "lead" should become a contact so they can be added to email comms also.

I agree, I use linkmatch and this may not be very practical.
@Mike van der Valk It will not be better to enter the contacts as always and if you do not see nearby opportunities or have not yet been analyzed to identify them, mark the contact as a lead (freezing it) and thus pass it to the lead tray with all its attributes and details. ..
And then when you call from a business, it automatically becomes prospects? ... I never understood this logic of having it as a "Light" contact, that is, without more fields to act on.
For example, you should be able to contact a lead (and today I don't have contact details), and depending on your answer, "call" from a new or existing business and transform it into a prospect ... or create a new business and transform it into a prospect (it would be such as "taking it out" from the lead tray and taking it to the logic of the deals section), even automate this transfer, establishing that if I get a response (interest) in a lead and / or identify an opportunity (in a custom field for example ), becomes a prospect and creates a deal automatically.
In this way, data is not duplicated, nor is it necessary to enter new information.
Excuse me, I know that maybe it's collapsing the logic of the current functionality, but this seems like a good idea ... mine is just in case it could eventually become a contribution.

I have several "DEALs" that I need to convert to LEADS to work them properly. My CEO reviews my Pipeline and always comments about the ones not advancing. I was going to create my own Lead column so she can see which are actual deals but, with this new section, I don't have to. I do need to convert deals to leads to get started. Please advise status.
Just to confirm other requests, connecting a lead with an existing contact and/or organization would also be extremely useful since I already have a lot in my database I need to rework.

Hi @Violet Rae Webster we're getting close but still need some time. If all goes well we'll deliver it towards the end of next month, but I must put the side note that estimations can change quickly in software development. I've also passed on your suggestion regarding linking leads to existing contacts.
