The activity task is not retained.

I'm new to Pipedrive.

From the contact tab, I click on the contact name.

1) I added the activity to follow up via email

2) I added the deal.

The activity does not appear in the next activity column when I go to the deals tab. But it is showing up when I go back to the contacts tab.

So then I have to go into the deals tab, select the contact and re-add the activity there but it's duplicate work.

What am I doing wrong? Thanks!
