Is it possible to have multiple "Unsubscribe" options/choices?

I want to give our users the ability to unsubscribe from our newsletter which has a high frequency send, while still staying part of our event mailers.

This can also be described as changing their email preferences to only receive some of the content we share.

    This would solve our problem aswell. We're having a lot of newsletter subscribers which are great leads. But if they opt-out for our newsletter and later become customer/user, they can't receive anything anymore. Even if they actively opt-in again.
