Automation Workflow For Lead Qualification

I am trying to automate lead qualification by creating a custom field "lifecycle stage"
All i want is to create an automation that helps me with auto change of field "lifecycle stage" once the user signs up on the platform. Tried doing this but its not working, any one has tried this before ?

    1. Ensure the triggered by selected users contains the user who's actually creating a person
    2. Try changing the trigger to person updated, not created - depending on how the person comes in, this might be an update
    3. If using person updated, change the condition to "contact source changed" + "contact source not sign-up"
