Turn off data measurement when moving a deal backwards

Hi,

It would be nice to be able to turn off data measurement when you move a deal backwards in the pipe.

To give a concrete example; one of our operational KPIs e our sales team is measured on is booked meetings which is connected to our third stage (trigger is that when a meeting is booked, move from stage 2 to stage 3). So, if a sales rep move the deal back because I as a team lead has challenged the quality of this specific deal, the stats looks like the sales rep scheduled a new meeting when he actually moved a deal backwards due to poor quality. Same issue for us when we measure opportunities created.

The above affects our insights statistics negatively giving us indication that more meetings are scheduled than in reality.

If more of you have this problem, please like this post to make sure we get a solution for this problem in Pipedrives development pipe.

Thank you for your feedback, @Johan Brunedal !

I'd like to forward your suggestion intrenaly, so I'd like to understand your use case a little better. I have 2 questions, if you don't mind:

    • are you using Workflow Automations to generate these activities?
    • would your idea be to "undo" these activities when the deal is moved backwards?

    Thanks!

    Hi,

    Thank you for replying so quickly. Answers to your questions;

    • We are not using workflow automation.
    • Not sure what the best solution would be other than having the possibility to, in settings, turn off data measurement when you move a deal backwards

I have the same request. We have weekly target on entering stages. Usually deals move from stage 1 to 2 to 3, but sometimes we need to move them backwards, like stage 3 to 2. Here are few examples.

    1. Stage 2 "Send samples" and Stage 3 "Follow up call". If you send out samples, you move to stage 3 and make a follow up call. In that call, you might be told that the sample didn't reach,  so you decide to send another sample, which makes you move the deal from stage 3 to stage 2.
    2.  Stage 2 "Call and schedule demo" and Stage 3 "Demo day fixed (waiting for demo day)".  When you receive an urgent call from customer to rearrange the date, we want to move the deal to stage 2. Our customers are doctors and nurses, so these kind of rearrangements can't be done that day.

When we go backwards, entering stage 2 is counted twice for this particular deal. I understood that the original request above was to count only when this deal is moved from stage 1 to 2 and not to count when the deal was moved from stage 3 to 2. I have an additional request. I want the count for entering stage 3 to be reduced when moving to stage 2, since this deal will enter stage 3 twice. Thank you!

    Hi @伊藤 由起子 !

Thank you so much for your detailed breakdown and your suggestions. Have you considered registering these steps as activities linked to deals instead of deal stages? That would give you more flexibility in re-scheduling things and a more accurate accounting of the deals moves through the pipeline.

Thank you for your suggestion! Above was just a sample to describe the backward situation, and it can be turned into activities which we use a lot, but we love to see some important milestones in stages,  because it's easy to see the whole picture where we stand, and where we halt. When we can analyze where we halt, we learn what kind of actions we should take and what resources we should increase.

Additionally, even if we change those stages to activities, we have a weekly target for those activities, so the problem will not be solved, because the count for activity will increase instead of the count of entering stages.  Thank you!

We also need to monitor conversion rates for those that are in stages, and that's why it's not registered as activities. Due to those  increased counts of entering stages, these conversion rates are slightly compromised too.
