How to create a custom field that populates based on the last user to touch a deal?
I would like to create a custom field (which I have created the field itself), but I need it to populate based on the last user in our org who touched an open deal. The team today does not updated "lead owner" each time the deal is manipulated, so that field cannot be used. We'd like a record of who last touched each deal we have in PD. Any recommendations on how to accomplish this?

Hi there!
I hope you’re doing well today. My name is Hélio, and I’m part of the support team here at Pipedrive.
The best way to achieve this at the moment would be by using a tool like Zapier. While it’s not possible to automate this directly within Pipedrive, Zapier lets you automate almost anything. You could set up a webhook to send information from Pipedrive to Zapier, extracting the Deal ID and the User ID of the person who updated the deal. From there, you can update the deal’s custom field with the User ID.
You can learn more about webhooks here.

I hope that makes sense! Let me know if you need any help setting it up or have further questions.

Hey @breannafroller!
You’ll need a deal update webhook and the Pipedrive API (deal update endpoint). Zapier can be costly with high account or deal activity volumes.
Our Pipedrive setup package includes webhook automations to save user or owner data in custom ways. It's free to run and free to set up if you're just starting with Pipedrive. Email me at mac@datomni.com for a quick demo!
