How can I integrate Twilio's WhatsApp API into my existing automation workflow?
I currently have an automation set up where two follow-up emails are sent if a contact in a deal doesn't book a call. For the third follow-up, I'd like to send a WhatsApp message using Twilio, but I can't find a straightforward way to integrate this into the automation. Has anyone successfully done this, and if so, what tools or processes did you use? Would love some guidance!

Hello @mycountrymobile,
Currently, we do not have a default way to connect WhatsApp messaging with Workflow Automation, but you could use a workaround with Automated Webhooks and tools like Zapier or Make.
To achieve this, you can use the Automated Webhook as the third follow-up step. The action would be for Pipedrive to send a webhook with pre-defined information to Zapier or Make, where you created the Webhook. Then, using this webhook as a trigger in Zapier or Make, you will be able to send WhatsApp messages. We hope this helps.

To send a WhatsApp message via Twilio as part of your automation, you can use a webhook or middleware tool like Zapier, Make, or a custom server. Here's how:
- Set up a Twilio account and register a WhatsApp-enabled number.
- Create a Twilio API flow to send WhatsApp messages using their REST API.
- Add a webhook trigger to your existing automation tool (e.g., Pipedrive or HubSpot) for the third follow-up.
- Configure the webhook to call your Twilio API endpoint with the contact’s details.
- Test the flow to ensure the WhatsApp message sends successfully.
We (Cloudify) can help you set up a custom integration for Pipedrive to streamline this process!

You could use webhooks as mentioned above or use Make/Zapier and Timelines.ai (WhatsApp connector)
Happy to show you the basics of setting this up. You can book a time with me here

If still relevant, WhatsApp <> Pipedrive integration will be added to our Pipedrive bundle in January'25 (currently in testing and rolling out test setups).
Email me if you'd like to pilot it for your account.
A bit more detail on the implementation bundle:
As always, no third-party tools are required, and setup is instant, free, with no ongoing costs for any Pipedrive account set up through us as partners.

I'd definitely be interested in a whatsapp integration for our Pipedrive account. Can you tell me more please?

Hey @Kate_44532,
Could you please email me at mac@datomni.com with some details about your use case? Please also include a couple of preferred times for a call.
We need to know the following:
- What is the main goal of this integration? (e.g., lead generation, customer support, or tracking deals). This will help us figure out which Pipedrive objects/entities need to connect with WhatsApp.
- What kind of data should be shared between WhatsApp and Pipedrive, and how? (e.g., contacts, messages, deal statuses and updates, project or service IDs). This will help us decide if you need one-way or two-way syncing.
- What is the URL of your Pipedrive account, along with your API Key and WhatsApp API Keys?
Once we have this information, we'll pilot the integration for your account.
Looking forward to your email!
