Managing Child Data
Hello,
After a lead becomes a deal, then a customer (or account), is there a way in PipeDrive to store information about that customer/account and the children that roll up to that account?
For example, if a hospital is a customer, and there are practices within that hospital that are considered child accounts, is there a way to store information about that customer/account and it's children in PipeDrive?
In other words, how do you manage customers in PipeDrive?
Thank you!

Hello @KariA
Thank you for reaching out!
To provide you with some more context, you can look at Pipedrive data like this:
People contacts are the specific customers that you are selling to.
Organization contacts are the companies that contact people work at, or in the case of B2B, organizations would be the customers.
Leads are deal opportunities that still need some more nurturing before becoming Deals.
Both Deals and Leads must have a contact linked to them - a Person, or an Organization, or both.
This article is useful for understanding how Pipedrive data is organized: How is Pipedrive data organized?
So your customers would be Contacts in Pipedrive, and the fact that you create a Lead or a Deal linked to that Contact will mean you have an ongoing sale with them.
Following the example you shared, a hospital would be an Organization contact, and the hospital director could be the Contact Person linked to that organization.
To attribute a relation between Organization contacts in Pipedrive we have the Related Organizations feature:
- Related: associates two organizations together, but gives neither organization hierarchy over the other
- Parent: notes one organization as higher in the business hierarchy than another
- Daughter: notes one organization as lower on the business hierarchy than another
