Custom fields grouping with automatic show/hide AND "if,then" functions

Hi everyone,

A 2 part Custom Fields question:

1/ is there a way to show/hide group custom fields based on another custom field OR based on that group having or not having any data in their fields? As an example, we are a car brokerage and if a customer has a trade in (tick), show the trade in fields and if they don't, hide or minimise the group.

2/ will there ever be an option for "if/then" functionality? Similar to above however more to do with formula. If there is a certain product/s attached, then calculate the total price or if there is a trade in, then add the trade value. Maybe an "if this then that" type option also - say if their trade in has a finance payout to add or is the customer paying a deposit etc?

This might be well into the weeds here but TIA.

    Thanks so much for sharing this!

    To clarify your first point: while we don’t currently support conditional visibility of custom fields or field groups based on specific values, there is an option on items to hide fields that have no data entered. When enabled, this also hides entire field groups if none of the fields within them are filled out, so it helps keep your item views clean, even if it’s not fully at this time.

    As for formula-based or “if/then” logic, we do have formula fields available on our Professional plan and above. These let you create basic calculations using values from other custom fields. That said, conditional logic (like "if product X is selected, then do Y") isn’t currently supported, though we can see the value in this.

    Since this sounds like a feature that would benefit a lot of users, we’d recommend posting your idea in the Ideas and Product Feedback section of our Community as well. That way, others can upvote it, and our product team can track interest more easily.
