Required Fields-Deal

The new required fields feature is great and it's a big part of the reason why we selected PD over other platforms.  It will allow us to keep deals moving with the right data, at the right time.  However, I think there is a flaw in the feature, or at least behavior that was not intended by design.  At the moment, anytime that you mark a field as required, it forces you to add the filed to the Add Deal menu.  You cannot uncheck the box.  The feature was built with the ability to select the stages at which you want the fields to become required but this is useless if you have to enter the required data at deal creation.

Am I missing something or was this an oversight that needs to be corrected?

@Christian Ayala currently we don't have a way to detect inside the "add modal" to make this different depending on the pipeline/stage you're adding a deal. Therefore if it's required in at least one, it's being added in that modal.

However, we understand your feedback and hope to improve this in the future!

Thanks, Mike.  I'm having trouble understanding why they built it out with stages in mind if they are irrelevant.  Was it simply not well thought out or am I not using it as intended?  Just wondering if I am missing something.

    Thanks for your help.

@Christian Ayala this is only limited to the "add dialog". For the rest the feature works as it is. So it's not mandatory to fill the field in when creating a deal in a stage where you haven't set it as required. However, if you try to move it to that stage and the data is missing, the system will block you and give a warning. The same if you try to add a deal directly in that stage and the data is missing.

So everything works that way that you can't have deals with certain data missing in a stage where you said you need that data.

Mike, thank you for elaborating.  I saw the fields on the ADD DEAL screen and assumed that data needed to be entered.  Forgive me, I should have tested.  I can see now that it allows me to create a deal without entering data that is required for a stage that comes later.

Would like to request for the ADD DEAL screen to only show fields that are required for the selected stage that the deal is being created in.

    Thank you for your help.
