Hidden Fields in Web Forms to Capture Pre-defined Data
Comments

I worked around this limitation using the "Lead Title Prefix" under Submit Options. I put in the name of the specific form or source (e.g. Facebook) using naming like "WebForm: Facebook Campaign -". This then prefixes the lead's company name so we can track where they came from. Results in numerous forms having the same general format, but works for me. I hope it helps for you.

Better to switch to custom form solutions like Typeform, Paperform, or TallyForms.

I'm also hesitating to deploy other forms that would allow me to do this, but if I do that, the Leadbooster option will be much less useful.

I wonder when if ever we will see this feature. I wish there was something I could do. Where is my donate button, I will donate money to have this developed! I'm so frustrated not having a way to track this data. 😓

Please, Pipedrive, give us an explanation. It's a major feature.
2 -
We need hidden fields. This is motivating me to purchase a 3rd party form tool since it's a bare minimum requirement for forms.

I wish there was something we could do to make sure this get's moved along. Instead of waiting, hoping, and doing a Pipedrive rain dance.

We are at the point were we would like to drive more paid traffic towards these forms, without hidden fields we can't track conversion accurate, we would like to save campaign ID's for example. This makes us doubt about using webforms and steers us towards building our own, which brings extra development time for something simple, this is disappointing.

I said the same thing, but no one seems to be listening to this thread.

Maybe we should advertise this thread instead, and then they might make the changes we need. Can anyone say Go Go gadget GPT code rebuild to the rescue? Cmon Pipedrive... tracking is paramount to marketing, we need this.

+ 1 to this request, we also need this feature to start using pipedrive forms

Come on Pipedrive!!! 😫 I've never seen such an unresponsive software team before. This community is pretty engaged and knows exactly what it wants. But it seems like Pipedrive just takes us all for granted. Not cool guys! Keep it up and we're all going to leave.
2 -
Why is this getting ignored?
3 -
STOP IGNORING US!!!! 😫

Maybe we should start a Change.ORG signature initiative , to help spotlight our issue.

Yes @Errol Newson, I'm all for that! Infact I'm so close to attempting to start a movement with the purpose of creating a sold open source CRM tool. So we could finally be rid of all these greedy, selfish, software companies that don't give a crap about us or the money we lose due to their negligence and nonsense. A lot of us using these tools have the knowledge and resources to do better as a collective than, Piedrive, Hubspot, or any other company and we could make improvements a lot faster too! ✊

Adding to the vote for needing this feature! Another cross against Pipedrive.

Any news on this?
This is very needed!1 -
@Frank Filippelli I second that Pipedrive is the most unresponsive development team I've ever seen. This post is 4+ years old and not even acknowledged by the development team. This board is riddled with suggestions for extremely valuable and easy to implement functionality that repeatedly goes unacknowledged and unimplemented. I think it's fair to say Pipedrive development is dead and gone. It's gotten to a point where we have no choice but to explore other options. I can't justify giving money to an organization that lost all interest in providing for the needs of its users.

I'm still here, we still need it. Some one start a change.org
I'll sign it .

@wonders I'm with you!! Thanks so much for speaking up, sometimes I feel alone in my option on these forums. I know based on most comments and suggestions most users are very unhappy with this company and others like it. But for some strange reason they just don't seem angry enough. It's like most users have just excepted this as the industry norm 😞
1 -
@Frank Filippelli You're welcome and trust me, I appreciate you speaking out as well. Too bad they don't give a rats ass lol! This has just turned into a horrible relationship where they have blatantly neglected our needs and are laughing all the way to the bank. We deserve better.

@wonders All too true!

Yeah, this seems like standard functionality for most CRMs and MANY of us have been asking for this.

👋 Hi everyone
Thank you for all the feedback and potential use cases that you've shared around this (special shoutout to @Errol Newson for not giving up!)We do read your feedback every week, but unfortunately there are good ideas like this one that have to wait for a long time as there's a lot of them.
But good news is that we are planning to give a lot more love to Leads in the upcoming few quarters, this also includes Leadbooster, which includes Web Forms.
To make sure we're building the right solution, I'd encourage to share more use cases and specific details around hidden fields that would be useful for your specific workflows.
From all the posts above my understanding is that most critical would be to have a hidden field that would auto-populate based on the URL (or specific URL slug or parameter) where it's embedded into?
I assume there might be a few different cases around it - to pass some arbitrary information via url slug or parameter to a hidden field, passing the tracking code in some other way than via URL parameters, maybe something else? I'd be very curious to know more about these specifics. In the meantime I'll have a discussion about it with our engineers and get back to you soon.

@Rene H The issue is that we've been waiting for changes for years. How can a team of 1,000+ people not find the time to improve very basic, yet fundamental features over the course of nearly half of a decade? Leads have extremely basic functionality. No additional contacts, no math functionality, no ability to import them based on a time stamp, not even a freakin' change log. Workflows have been the same prehistoric, single flow, no path, 1 dimensional hack for years on end.
It should be clear from this thread and the countless others, your customers are begging for Pipedrive to take action. We don't care about some new AI summary bot, we don't care about new fancy prospectors. We want flexible, exceptionally functioning core product features. These are the LIFELINE of our business. For me, and I believe I speak for many others, when I see your "roadmap", I see a road I don't want to go down. I'll be looking for an alternative route unless core functionality is given the precedence and rapid development that it deserves. This isn't something that should be 'upcoming quarters', it should be upcoming weeks. It's time for management to step up to the plate and take action.

This very succinctly states how a lot of us feel. We have new leadership on our team and they are investigating alternatives because there is basic functionality - things users have repeatedly requested - that's missing from the platform.

Thanks for the shout out my man! Means a lot, and thank you for giving this thread some much deserved attention we really appreciate not just your eyes, and ears, but most importantly your action.
Here is what we want based on this message board you can take straight to the engineers.
The absolute basic: we need a place to put tracking code on forms so that a third party can track the data. Like.. Google Analytics for pipedrive ( which is impossible to use right now ) unless you don't have pipedrive forms, and your using all 3rd party forms on the site.
Let's go further though into the expectation of this thread, and possible ideas. ( guys feel free to jump in if I'm missing something ok? )
