Yes this would be very good
But would not you miss going to the full details view from the List view?

@Almonzer I assumed that both views would be an option like in deal view. Pipeline / List / Forecast view

Idea is, when in Activity List View and you click on a linked deal, you will see the side panel coming inside the Activity List view ONLY with the deal detail (same for linked person/org)
On the other views, it will be the same, but please share your feedback if you see it differently.0 -

Understand what you mean
I understood it as the list view will remain as is and if you click on the activity in the list view this pop up then shows where you can toggle in that pop up as seen in the snapshot you had shared

I think this is great. Is it possible to test drive?

You can test our prototype from here

Exactly, you can try out prototype here:

I like the idea. Especially because many actions can be done from the activity view directly e.g.:
- sending emails from deals with templates
- filling custom fields
In order to navigate to the deal / contact or organization a link to open them in a new tab would be good.
Furthermore, it would be great if a this view could be opened by a link from outside pipedrive. Right now it is not possible to link to a view from Pipedrive where the full activity is opened and all details are revealed. It would be great if the view is opened when a link like the following is opened:
https://xxx.pipedrive.com/activities/541

@Martin Eckardt tell me how do you imagine opening a deal in a new tab? do you still want to open a full page detail view from the activity list view? why?
BTW here is the prototype link if you want to test yourself:

I added a small icon in the "tab" where the deal can be opened in a new tab

Thank you @Martin Eckardt !
Can you tell me the benefits you see from the possibility of going to a full-screen details page, if you have everything your need in the side panel?0 -
This is a must. I love it. Many activities are for updating fields or sending emails. I love that you can do it without leaving the activities page and then simply jump to the next activity. I don't think there is anything to miss about jumping between pages.

I like the idea, but execution as you proposed will diminish it value.
Isnt it better to allow that context view every time you see an activity? Without it depending of which view.I mean, you are in the activity tab and you may click at any activity on any view and it will show you this context pannel/pop up.
That is mainly what you want , and it the user adoption would be high on anyone using pipedrive activities

@Almonzer We already discussed this in another context and I love it ! Let's do it as part of the navigation features soon !

@Steven Baltodano help me here, what other views/pages in the product you see this helpful in?
BTW you can test the prototype yourself from here (try clicking on activity name, or linked items)

Seems like a great feature! 🎉

@Almonzer This feature would be also of great help in the email list view. I ALWAYS have to open the deals to check things before responding to an email i.e. if a task related to the email received is ongoing and assigned. Also, frequently an email generates a new activity in a deal that could be included right there so you can archive the email. This would avoid us to use the Inbox as a parallel activity list and really focus on the activity list only... That happens.

Basically anywhere... Meaning don't link this feature to a view or a page. Link it to the activity feature.
That way it doesn't matter where you are seeing an activity, you can always see this contextual view when you click on the activity0 -
I think I love it but, I have a couple questions to see how this would work in our org. I played with the prototype and I’m wondering how did it know to pull the deal it did? I notices the activity has no deal attached in this example. Also, what is there are two deals? Does this just pull based on the activity you clicked? I’m trying to figure out in my head what multiple deals, activities and people might look like. We like our data to be as accurate as possible so we attach a lot of info to each thing. For example, we sell through a channel partner at times. In this case, we have the deal in place with the correct org but, since our POC is the channel partner and not a direct contact in the Org, we list that channel partner as ”involved” in the deal and not as the direct contact. Just wondering what all these scenarios would cause for our workflow

@Jeremy Gulley Thank you for this elaborate comment.
Our thinking behind this POC is to bring activity linked items closer to the user, in order for them to make actions faster, without losing focus jumping between pages.
In essence, we look at what deal/person/org did you link the activity with and pull that for you when you are working with this activity.
Does this answer your question? if not, maybe we go on a call to discuss this further?
Have a lovely day!

Not bad @Almonzer but first is it possible to add a "Print" button to print the Activity List View with one click?
Often, have a "printed list" is better than look on the monitor and make people more focused on to-do task.... thanks!

@Jorge Martínez Marbán and @Yechiel Tovim it's in progress for the activity view. I'll pass on your suggestions to our team though on the contact list: https://community.pipedrive.com/post/planned-new-navigation---contextual-view-in-activity-lists-5f731f8fc5859021d6555848

@Jorge Martínez Marbán Thank you for your feedback, the contextual view should come to other lists as well such as the Contacts list, today we are focusing on the Activity List as one of the most used and important views we have.

This would be very useful.
We have to review all our deals on a weekly basis to make new activities and have to do a lot of back and forth between deal details page and the deal listing page that shows deals with a certain filter.
This sort of panel will help to get more info without switching pages.
Thanks
