Documents (Beta) Feedback

Hi,
My org signed up for the Documents Beta testing. Here is some feedback from our initial attempt:
- I created a template and merged the organization name from the Org tab and the date field. Neither the org name or the date populated to the created document
- I also inserted the organization name inside the document and the name did not populate there either
- The date field populates when inserted in the document
- The document had to be created from the Contact record because the Person Name associated with the deal is not available and a merged field. This would be a great field to insert as many proposals are based on info in a deal.
- I sent a couple documents and selected the various notification options, but never received an email notifying me that the email was opened.
Thanks for allowing us to be part of this Beta. We look forward to using this tool as it get developed.

Emily, mine actually work....you have to include the "field" from the right side "Pipedrive fields" to the document on the left. See pic below. I basically just used their template. Also, I go into the deal and open "beta documents" there and then choose my template. Don't know if that helps but thought I would try.

Emily.....and as far as the opening of documents. I've learned that if they don't choose to accept cookies then it will not tell us who it is. But you never know, that might be our company thing.

Thanks Jenn,
Some of the merged fields work in-document, some don't. I wasn't able to get the org name to work.
Best,
Emily

Hi Jenn,
I sent the email to two of my personal and my work email addresses. All three addresses are on file in PipeDrive, it should have worked. The read notification feature works when I send a regular email.

Hi @Emily J. Gumpel ,
I'm one of the product managers working on this feature. Thank you for reporting the issues you're having, it certainly sounds like you've hit a few bugs. I'd love to get to the bottom of this with you, so I'll drop you a private message to explore this further.
There may be one reason why the fields were not populating correctly. The Person, Org and Deal Fields can all be added directly in the body of the document or in tables. However, if they are in table that also contains Product Fields, they will not work. Product Fields need to be in a separate table, so we can correctly populate the table with each product that has been added to the deal. I appreciate this isn't intuitive and we are working on improving this experience.
As Jenn above pointed out, we will only track opens and send notifications if the recipient accepts the Cookies, giving their consent to tracking (in line with the GDPR rules). If you were sending it to yourself and opening the link in the same browser, then we probably recognised you as the same individual. Try opening the link in another browser or in incognito, and then it should track it as a new view.
Best wishes,
Jess
