Link and open tracking directly thru emails sent from Gmail
Is it possible to send emails directly from Gmail and enable link and open tracking from there instead of sending emails from Pipedrive with an extension? I know that Hubspot has this feature.

No, You are not able to track emails that are sent from Gmail. It only tracks opens on the emails sent from Pipedrive.

We do have a Pipedrive Gmail add-on but at the moment it doesn't have an email tracking feature. That being said, we appreciate your input and use it to give our teams thinking points to be considered in the future.

@Inês Batata - Is the Gmail toolbar in the works? I just switched over from Hubspot at the suggestion of my VA & am considering switching back because I don't want to have to use the Pipedrive email client. At the moment we have no news about this, as priorities and resource allocations for development have to be distributed and unfortunately not everything can be built or at least built in the near future. That being said, we appreciate your input and use it to give our teams thinking points to be considered in the future.
Why do you prefer not to use our email feature?

Emails in Pipedrive is lacking in formatting and other features used quite extensively in Gmail and outlook like snooze and labels. We can't expect our users to abandon them and use Pipedrive.

Thank you for your input @Eli Glanz , it's very helpful to us that you mentioned concrete features that you'd like to see added.
Right now, the Pipedrive email sync is a way to facilitate not having to jump between programs just to check, send or respond to email. Currently our inbox is not designed to be an email client in itself, as that would be a huge and complex development undertaking. Unfortunately we have to make choices as to what we develop ourselves and where we create bridges with software that already does that job really well, as is the case of Gmail and Outlook, among others.
That being said, I understand your frustration and have used your suggestions to give our teams notes to be considered in the future. Here’s how to stay on top of what’s coming down the line:

Currently our inbox is not designed to be an email client in itself, as that would be a huge and complex development undertaking. Unfortunately we have to make choices as to what we develop ourselves and where we create bridges with software that already does that job really well, as is the case of Gmail and Outlook, among others.
This only makes sense of course, Pipedrive must focus what it does best instead of building an email client which gmail and outlook have covered.
However in order for it to be a proper bridge, the integration must be more robust. And email linking is just so so frustrating.

Tracking using the Pipedrive tracking engine isn't possible because the data isn't exposed by the API.
Personally, I find tracking of limited value (and it is more likely to put you in the spam folder) however, there are third party options.
