Person/Deal detail in external calendar - (Apple Calendar)

When the Zoom calendar integration was rolled out, it broke some nice functionality with external calendars.

With two way sync, external calendars used to display Person/Deal info in the Event Title like this:

"John Smith > Call" with the contact phone # in the Notes section of the external calendar event.

Now, external calendar events do not include the Person Name in the Event Title. The event Title looks like this instead:

"Call"

There's a new setting under Calendar Sync that allows you to toggle to "Show contact and deal info" but that setting only puts the Person Name and Phone # in the NOTES section of the external calendar event, NOT in the event Title.

This is a significant downgrade to external calendar integration because now a user has to click each individual event to see the event notes and determine who the appointment is with.

It would be really, really nice if this was fixed quickly to the prior functionality.

Are any fellow PD users with other external calendars (besides Apple Calendar) seeing the same issue?

Hello Jason, this is Clarissa from the Management Team.

I'm not sure about this specific behaviour, as I've never heard about it and couldn't replicate right away. May I ask if you reached out our Support team so that we can investigate? We have to understand if this is indeed the expected behaviour or an issue.

    Thank you in advance.

Hi Clarissa. Yes, I had a long chat with Mariana and she suggested I post here so that the issue gets addressed on the next calendar update early next year. The explanation that I got was changes were made to the external calendar integration in order to accommodate the new Zoom integration. Everyone on my sales team who uses PD with Apple Calendar is experiencing the same issue. When the calendar syncs, it does not put any identifying information in the Event Title on Apple Calendar the way it used to. I've attached a couple of images to illustrate what I'm talking about. It really is a significant downgrade to external calendar functionality.

One point of clarification. We are all using Google Calendar to sync with PD calendar. The screenshots above are from Apple Calendar which is simply displaying the Google Calendar account that's connected to PD. I wouldn't think this would make a difference, but thought I'd mention.

I just double checked and the same display issue is present with the Google Calendar using the web browser Google Calendar app. It only shows the appointment type in the Event Title, not the Person. Clicking to expand the Event shows the Person and Phone # just like in the Apple Calendar App.

    Hey Jason,
This is Diana from Pipedrive Support Management Team - nice to meet you :)

I do believe this would be better discussed with one of our support agents. I was checking internally and it does seem that the conversation with Mariana has already ended but feel free to start a new one, I'll make sure to keep an eye on it as well :)
