Importing contacts and automatically sending emails

Hi,

I've created a workflow automation so that cold leads added to my contacts automatically receive a template email. It works when I manually add contacts, but I can't get it to work when I do it by importing contacts via a csv file. Is this not possible or am I doing something wrong?

    @Kevin Meynard -- this is correct

     

    Pipedrive does not support workflows to get kicked off when importing. It only works on creating records through the UI [manually]

    Thanks for the answer. I've been trying for hours, was thinking something was wrong with my data import. Could be a useful feature though.

    @Kevin Meynard There's a reason why we limited it. Our automations work with API and we have API rate limits. Imagine importing thousands of rows and have automations working. This could potentially create a lot of unwanted automations to trigger.

    However, your workflow sound like something you can do with Mailigen by Pipedrive. Last month Pipedrive acquired Mailigen 

    There is already a basic integration ready but we're working on fully integrating Mailigen as a Pipedrive product. It looks like this might be a solution for your use case.
