Is there a way you can use custom fields and auto-populate them with a merge field?

I want to be able to auto fill some custom fields from contacts already saved in the system

    You can use Zapier to auto-populate it as a merge field.

    I'm new to Pipedrive and don't know what Zapier is?? Is it part of Pipedrive or another program you use in conjunction with it?

    With typeform.com (a product to conduct polls on users) you can prepopulate the custom fields with GET parameters, so you can skip steps in your playbook for information you already know.

    Are there any plans for something similar with pipedrive?
