Feature request: Target products and subscriptions with automation

Automation has been a huge help in ensuring that the products purchased by each org are recorded and it's easy to tell when they're up for renewal. The new Product feature gives access to very helpful dashboards, but it's difficult to get everyone to fill it out properly. The new subscription option is even cooler, but I can't use it without automation because fast-paced salespeople won't update the data reliably.

Hi Emily! Nuno, from Pipedrive here. For me to better understand, can you describe what would be the ideal automation scenario for your process?

Add a list of  products automatically  to a deal depending on type of deal. The products them selfs need a way to section lists of items. For example, here are all the service items and here are all the products categorized neatly. Product templates would be fantastic. Products in pipedrive are currently not very good. Also, if I put the products in, its not like i can use the same products that will automatically go into my invoicing software. Too many limitations to where products has been useless for us.

One possible automation would be to assign a product based on the value of the deal. Currently, setting the value updates the "package" custom field in the deal and the "plan" custom field in the Org.

Alternatively/additionally, it would be great if I could update the product field based on the package custom field.

It would also be fantastic if I could concatenate each product in the org's plan custom field.

Hi Emily! Thanks for the clarification. We will be adding the the capability to add a product to a deal in automations soon.

As for the ability to concatenate each product in a org's custom field, what would be the motivation behind it in your process?

We like to attach product information to an org in a custom field, "plan". Someone might have purchased a Tier 1 monthly plan, plus a custom domain. Their custom field "plan" would have "Tier 1 monthly, custom domain". Or maybe they'll have purchased an additional server with their Tier 2 annual plan. Then it would be "Tier 2 annual, server".

    Reviving this old thread.

We sell a monthly subscription software. I'd like to be able to call this a subscription product (or service) and attach it by default to every new deal. Instead, I now have to type it manually into every single deal (we make hundreds of sales a week = lots of typing!).

    Features I'd like to see:
-A next renewal date field (can be calculated based on time of first subscription + renewal frequency)
-Filtering based on next renewal date + a time variable (e.g. "show me deals that are set to renew in the next week")
-Automation that allows me to create activities around such filters - happy to use Zapier for this, but I need it to be a selectable filter. (e.g. "create a Subscription Renews Soon Reminder activity for each  deal matching the filter").
