Managerial Role Access

Hi there,
Has any thought been given to having a permission or role type of 'Sales Manager', whose sole access is for insights and reporting, not pipeline usage?
Currently, when you create a new user, they all get their own pipelines - and show in the list of users with pipelines.
This means that, for our organisation at least where sales people report to their local branch manager, it's impractical to create user accounts for the branch managers - if we did, we would have 35 entities to wade through in the User list everywhere it's available as a dropdown, despite the fact we only have 20 sales people actually using Pipedrive for sales workflow.
I don't know if I'm explaining this well, but in essence I believe Pipedrive needs a managerial role/access who is not expected, nor visible as part of, the normal list of users available for filters and reports, because they are a manager, not a user.

Thank you for sharing. I've passed it on to our team that's working on permissions and visiblity in Pipedrive. This will be valuable input for them thank you!

Let's put it this way - if this feature was enabled, you'd be getting about 43 licenses-worth of billing from us instead of the current 26

Hi Daniel
Wouldn't you expect any such limited access accounts to come at a lower price per user than the full-fledged pipeline users?

Casper, that would be nice, but not critical. Pipedrive is already a fraction of the cost of the likes of SalesForce - my primary concern for having managerial access is the security permissions, visibility and reporting associated with it. Indeed, I would expect Managerial roles to have additional, different functions to what a Sales person's role has access to. e.g. enhanced reporting, visibility over multiple accounts vs only their own, etc.
Currently, the only way to implement this is to pretend that every manager is also a sales person and have some pretty open security policies. Workable, but very messy, and certainly not ideal.
PipeDrive currently seems to be designed more for individual or small group usage, some of the managerial functions you'd expect for larger organisations are very notably absent - however we make do because otherwise it's a great product for a good price and certainly a load more user friendly than a behemoth like SF.
