First Name & Last Name Separation for list export

Edit, you can now ask the Pipedrive support team to enable the split of first-  and last name fields in your account 🚀

Hi I would like to know if I can export a list with the first and last name fields in diferent columns.

    Hi @Gary Allen what is the email address you're using to login to Pipedrive? (write it here or email me at mike@pipedrive.com0

    I can then enable a feature we're working on that splits names into first- and last name in the contact details and lists. This will then also reflect in the export.

    Hi @Gary Allen it's a new feature not live for everyone yet, so you'd need to reach out to support to have it switched on and off. You will now on your contact persons see the first- and last name fields like this below. If you export all your contacts these fields will be shown on your export list as well.

    Thanks for the help on this. 

    But for some reason it seems to have changed a number of my contacts to show their first name only  when viewing them in a list and individually in pipedrive.

    I think you might have some bugs there.

    Please can you switch the feature off for now.

    @Gary Allen I've switched it off for now but would love to learn more about it since we didn't get complaints from other users. What is your expectation of what will happen and what is happening now?

    I think it might have been my error, I'm using an email marketing tool called snov.io and whe setting up the integration I mapped first name in snov.io to person name in pipedrive.

    Listen, I'm realy sorry to be a pain, if you could switch the feature back on again and I'll give it another try  with a filtered export of contacts into xls and I'll give you full feedback once it's done.

    Please see attached some screenshots.

    One is the screen in pipedrive showing the contact with the first and last name fields as you describe.

    The second is the export to  excel, unfortnatley it doesn't seem to be separating the first and last names.

    In addition,  I noticed that the email adrresses are not separated, work from home etc..., this will cause an error if exported to an email marketing tool as it can only read one email per contact within a field.

    Thanks for sharing @Gary Allen I tried it yesterday and exported filter results from the contact person list view and it worked. The columns for first- and last name were the ones totally on the right of the spreadsheet for me though, are they also missing there for you?

    @Mike van der Valk  I would like to pick up on this conversation. Could I also have this function turned on? In Belgium we have any people with double or even triple last names. Now Pipedrive splits the contact name in half. If we use the field first name in email this gives some strange results and does not come across very professional.... Maybe this new function will resolve this problem. My log-in is info@netwerkondernemen.be.

    I need this too. I'm surprised you can't just have the option to export the first name as a standard option. It's available already in email templates.

    @Robert Holder as far as I could see it's already enabled on your account. You should be able to have different columns for first- and last name in your list view and also on the contact person detail page there should be two fields. It will be a standard option in the future but there's some extra things we're still testing before we go live to the whole userbase.

    The First Name Last name Separation is great for list exporting, I've laso integrated Pipedrive with the ESP Klenty, and you great integration with good visibility of which campaigns you are sending emails through via Pipedrive filters.

    As I hate anyone here having to maually handle and clean lists on .csv its a reall boon.
