Caller Feature

For the most part, I have really enjoyed working with Pipedrive for the past 6 years. I was so excited when I saw that they were coming out with the "Caller" feature a while back. However, after trying it out, I came to find out the following:

a) Is not trackable like other VOIP caller functions. Example: I use RingCentral for calls right now, where my reps make their calls through that system, and log them in PD. However the recorded calls are not able to be automatically imported into deals so it takes management two steps instead of one. Also, with caller I'm not able to easily track how many calls each team member has made, the time they spend on the phone, etc. This is KEY for us, and I imagine just about everyone else out there that is managing teams that are using the systems.

b) At the time at least, maybe its changed, but I don't believe it worked for inbound calls. Not sure why it would not provide this service.

These made me look into switching to SalesForce to avoid having to use two systems for this. I'd much prefer that PD just comes out with the applicable tracking and we could easily move to using the Caller feature and off of RingCentral.

Anyone else experience similar things?

Thanks for sharing @Mitch Ehly I'm sharing it with our team and @Arseniy here.

If you make the call from a deal itself then the recording should be auto linked on the deal within the call activity that is created after the call.

We're currently also working on the activity reports in our insights reporting feature so you can better track the activity as well.

Unfortunately, inbound calls are not supported, but as mentioned above, thank you for sharing and I passed it along to the team.

@Mitch Ehly  I'm not sure if this has been resolved for you, but we use kixie and what we had to do is create activities in the back end specifically for the integration.  Don't ask me how we did it as it was above my paygrade, but I know that is something we worked with tech support to do and they show up for inbound and outbound calls.

Hey Mitch, I saw your comment on my poll, I use Simplii and it has been nothing but a joy to use. Everyone loves using their integrations into Pipedrive, Im sure you would love it. My reps love the ability to text and make calls within seconds, put new leads into their power dialers and be able to play call recordings at a whim. The guy at Simplii I talked with is Sagen, his email is [email protected] Reach out to him, he can get you a great price.
