limitation of 500 options in a custom field

It is not the best idea to remove the function instead of fixing the problem!

    Yes indeed! I think with time you will have more and more bigger customers who are managing more than 500 projects and use this field to manage them! That is exactly why companies need to change CRM's! Like Bernd says. Let's try to fix it before limiting the user experience.
