Use date as a trigger for automations
What i want to do, is to use expected close date, or a custom field that uses date- as a starting point for action.
i.e. deal updated- expected close date has changed - expected close date is prechosen?
Sama goes with custom field that is in date format.
Use case could be that i have a custom field "Validity of the offer"-date and when it has been reached you would get an activity "Offer expired, lose the deal or send nyt offer"

Bonjour,
Je suis passé à la version "Avancé" de Pipedrive pour accéder à la fonction d'automatisation du flux de travail.
Malheureusement, je ne parvient pas à paramétrer des actions pour gagner en temps et efficacité notamment en donnant une condition de date de déclenchement d'une action.
Est-il possible de déclencher une action automatique à la date du jour (par exemple envoyer un e-mail), avec comme condition une activité qui était planifiée à cette même date du jour ?
Autrement dit j'aimerai qu'un mail de relance d'un devis client soit envoyé automatiquement via Pipedrive un jour J lors que j'ai planifier au préalable une activité d'envoie de mail le jour J.
Est-ce possible ?

Avez-vous regardé du coté des conditions de filtre sur les déclencheurs.
Voici à quoi je pense :
- 1- Créer le champ libre de date de relance
- Dans offre
- Créer un champ perso
- type date
- Stocker la date de relance de devis (Bon c'est galère, car il faut stocker la date de relance manuellement, mais on peut utiliser la modif en masse)
- 2 - Créer la vue filtrée
- Dans offre
- Créer une vue filtrée en se basant sur le champ perso en condition
- "Date de relance" = date du jour
- 3 - Créer l'automatisme
- Type offre
- En mise à jour
- Conditions = type "Filtre"
- Faire correspondre avec le filtre créé en étape 2
- Action = Envoi email
Etape 4 en bonus, faire un test lol
Car je suis pas sûr que ça fonctionne.
Mais on a hâte que pipedrive fasse évoluer les fonctionnalités d'automatisme pour avoir des trigger sur les dates, des mise en attente entre action etc.Ca va arriver, mais en attendant vous pouvez tester ça.

Tel qu'indiqué par @Mike van der Valk le fonction n'est pas disponible actuellement mais Pipedrive y travaille depuis maintenant longtemps. Je peux espérer que ce sera en 2020, mais avec la situation actuelle tout est possible.
Je vous invite à considéré l'option de vous servir d'un outil externe, tel que Zapier ou Integromat, pour accomplir la tâche. Avec Integromat vous payerez $9/mo. S'il vous faut un consultant (comme nous, d'ailleurs!} vous aurez un coût d'environ $400 (une fois, pas mensuel) pour créer les automatisations.

Merci à tous pour vos réponses je vais analyser tout cela, faire des tests et trouver d'autres process d'autimatisation sans passer par une date. Et puis on sera patient jusqu'à l'intégration de nouvelles fonctions.

support told me that workflow automation triggered by a time based condition is not available as of now. I have been referred to use Zapier instead however could not really work out anything I wanted.
Let me give You a quick example:
I love the rotten days feature. But what I really need is a workflow automation that triggers after a deal rottens for x amount of days (amazing it would be if individual stages could be addressed too). The moment am pushing lots of deals through my pipelines am eager to have an automatic house keeping tidy up the stages/pipelines in the background, idle deals and maybe transfer them into another pipeline dedicated for the slow-mo deals.
Time based triggers can do so much more and users are gonna love this feature!

1º crie um filtro que corresponda ao tempo que você quer de gatilho.

I think I got stuck around the rotten days feature since it pin pointed perfectly the actual problem of the deal hence overlooked the last deal activity time filter. I set up a new automation already and hopefully will see soon the first deals moving based on my condition as expected.

I would love to be able to set a custom field deadline (or even the closing date) and then be able to schedule an activity to happen x number of days before that date. Maybe it's to check in to make sure the closing is going as scheduled.

We could use something like this as well.
Our use case would be to do a quarterly follow-up with our customers.
Example: Every quarter, create an activity on the organisation named "Follow up".

Julius hello! Yes, I found a way, it is a bit cumbersome but works. Basically you have to create a rule so that whenever a date field Zchanges value, it creates an activity automatically with a specific value X on location. Then create a filter that shows those activities with value X on location created that day... Then on zapier you can detect whenever an activity is added to that filter (trigger when activity matches filter) and, in that instance, trigger the creation of an activity X time before the date value of Z. Hope this makes sense.

@Antonio AAaaah I think I understand so you solely create an automatic activity for creating another activity that is x days before renewal. How do you ensure that the date value for field z is always changing?
Also, doesn't this result in a lot of clutter activities?
Basically, I was tasked to create an automation that creates an activity 90 days before a renewal date. I can't find a native way of doing it and even with zapier I don't see a trigger that would make sense so the only solution I think that's "clean" is with a little app that checks every day if there are upcoming renewals and create the task and associate it with the lead and assign it to a rep.

You are welcome! Although the set up is cumbersome, it solves the problem for sure. And you can even set different activities one 90 days before, another 60 days before etc... First create renewal date field. Then create pipedrive automation, when renewal date changes, then a task is created with due that the "renewal date filed" and location "ZapierRenewalTrigger" or whatever you want. Then create an activity filter named "Zapier Create New Tasks" that shows all activities whose location contains "ZapierRenewalTrigger" AND the subject does not contain "zapok"... then in Zapier trigger "activity matching filter" when an activity matches your filter "Zapier Create New Tasks", then Update activity the activity with ID matching the activity triggered... on the update change the subject to whatever you want + "zapok"... then 3rd step is to find organization in pipedrive whos ID matches the one from step 1, then create the activities you want for that company wiuth a due date X days before the "Renewal date value". That's all! All tasks are clean, there's no duplication, all works great. Hope it helps!

@Julius Gonzalez - I would be interested to know how you solved this issue on your end? I am having a very similar issue - we need to set several activities and reminders that occur a few weeks prior to an installation date and can only get triggered once the installation date is known. Very much appreciate your response.

I recently tried to build automation where the overall requirements were an organization falling into a filter i had pre-made based on a date field. However I realised that you cant use that as a trigger when creating automations, the organisation has to be updated in some way for it to be triggered.
Please can the developers consider using the following as triggers:
If org, pers, deal or lead fall into this filter (based on a date that has arrived) then send an email, create an activity etc can be achieved.
To me the update is the date arriving on the day its due, therefore the org updates itself into a filter.....

I understand your problem and countless times I have suggested this same thing to Pipedrive, for now, it might be easier to fix with Integromat as Arthur said.
A reason why Pipedrive probably won't be adding this feature is, if the Automation works once and your Pipedrive filter is built badly, the same automation will begin an endless loop of automations for that specific deal/org/contact.

I second this with my whole heart. I have set up a number of automation flows based on matching filters. They don't get triggered for this reason. As a result, I have to do a fake bulk update of a custom field I don't use.

It would be incredibly useful to use a date as trigger for a Workflow automation and to auto-populate date and time custom fields when using scheduler. Examples below:
- Trigger an action x days after a date
- Trigger an action (eg an email reminder) x days before a date
- When sending booking invites out to prospects via scheduler, and the prospect confirms by clicking the Yes button in gmail, have the ability to push the confirmed date and time into custom fields

I think it is safe to assume so. But when I made the suggestions above, I evaluated it against what Make/Integromat could do.

Hello, the use of Make/Integromat makes it more difficult than easier to work with pipedrive. And you have the possibilities, why not use it? I do not want to leave the pipedrive-universe for easy-work make complicate...
I think it would be not a really great work to add the triggers for working with "date"
Ex.: the trigger on contact/deal/organsiation could be <x-days before/after> <datefiield in contact, deal, orga>
Examples:
a) 8 weeks before a birthday of the person send an email
b) 4 weeks before a birthday of the person send an eMail
c) on birthday send an emial
d) x-days after sending an letter send an eMail as reminder
e) ....
I think it would be an easy to-do for your team... you work on dates the whole day...

But this post is more than 3 months old.
Not sure how much longer somebody would be willing to wait.
When I make suggestions to solve a particular problem, especially the ones involving other tools, it is based on the assumption that you can't solve it using existing features.
My suggestions are based on what tools are available to me, within or outside Pipedrive.

Amit, I understand what you are saying and appreciate your suggestions. But when pipedrive has automations which we are already paying for, the ideal would be that those automations could use dates. Thereby avoiding paying additional monthly fees for external tools.
