Can "no activity" be a trigger?

Is it possible to have an automated workflow that sends a templated email, only when there has been no activity for a specified amount of time on the deal in that stage?

I want a follow up email to go out when there's been zero activity for 7 days. If the potential customer has come back to us within the 7 days, we can just change/delete the upcoming activity.

    Hi Jim!

In this case, Pipedrive Automations only trigger with an action, so the item has to be created or updated and with "no activity" there is no active trigger. However, you can check out options using Zapier - it allows to use Pipedrive filters as triggers.

If you need a workaround for no activity or no incoming emails, it can be possible to use our Rotting feature that is set to be for 7 days. However this also means nothing else can happen to the Deal - no updates on any data etc, it has to sit idle for all these 7 days. However, as using Email sync, it also records incoming emails as activity, then when nothing arrives, it can trigger needed action. If the reply email comes - Deal will not get rotting and action will not be done.

You can also reach out to our Support team via chat to maybe discuss some more details if needed.

    Hi @Kreete K

    Thank you for your reply.

So with the rotting feature, after the 7 days has passed, can that then trigger an automated workflow to send a follow up email? Or, will is just change to red so that a person picks it up.
