Zapier Integration Duplicates Issue

Using Zapier to connect my Book like a Boss calendar to Pipedrive. Wanting to add leads when they schedule an exploratory call.

Works good there - it creates a new person.

However, all my clients schedule via my calendar so after the initial create of the person I am in an endless merge duplicates situation in Pipedrive. 

If I change the zap to update person vs create, it fails on the first go around because the person doesn't exist in pipedrive.

 

Any suggestions of how to do this more effectively?

Streamline the merge?

    Hi Paula! 

    There should be a step in Zapier that checks if the person exists and if not. The step should be called "Find a Person" and if nothing is found, it can create a new one. Maybe you can test the integration set up with this.

    Thank you Kreete - I will give that a go. Only downside is I don't think it puts the space between first and last name (even if I put it in the field) in creating the person.

     

    I'll give it a go for a week or so and see how it works.
