Using "Convert from Lead to Deal" in Workflow Automations

It would be great to be able to set up a workflow automation that is triggered by a lead being converted to a deal, rather than just any deal being created.
I know there's a workaround where you can fill in a custom field on the lead first, and then check if the custom field is filled as a condition when the deal is created, but this is a bit more convoluted than I'd like it to be.

Hi Jonathan,
We use an automation that is triggered when a specific activity is created within the lead that will convert said lead to a deal and places the deal on a specific pipeline.
This is only done in 4 steps so you could continue the workflow to further update that new deal if needed.
