We have a telesales team making calls, currently I've asked that only connected calls are logged (i.e. ones in which a conversation has taken place and we've in some small way advanced the sale, even if it's just getting a correct contact name etc).

I've also asked that we don't use activities to future date calls to prospects that have had no previous contact (why busy up activities when we can use filters to show un-contacted customers).

We're dealing with a large data set (30k cold leads) - so there is a lot of junk in there.

Any one doing similar?
