A company use Pipedrive Projects for different purposes. Could be service, delivery and more. The idea is to hide boards for those users that are not working in that area.

For example, service users will only see the Service board with projects. Delivery users will only see delivery board with projects.

This functionality exist already in DEALs.

It would be great if that was implemented in Projects too.

We hired a person to manage projects and do not know how to limit visibility, so they do not have access to every project the company has ever done. In attempting to test the feature, we are coming to the conclusion that all users with access can delete entire projects, files within projects, etc. Does anyone know how to restrict a user or is this not possible?

Hi @richardv users who have Projects add-on permission will have equal access to all projects and information contained in this add-on, and there is no option to further restrict project visibility. You can assign Projects permission to a user temporarily, and remove it when that user no longer needs access to Projects.

Thank you for your response. While we appreciate the Projects add-on features, the lack of granular permissions presents a MAJOR SECURITY ISSUE beyond just visibility. With equal access, any user can DELETE entire projects, which is a serious risk as our team grows. Data security is paramount in any CRM.

I appreciate what you mean @richardv, and have moved your question to the product feedback category. That way, it will be forwarded to our developers for consideration.

Thank you. We think Pipedrive Project Management system is perfect for onboarding clients. We switched from Asana as it was more than what we wanted and lacked decent integration. Now that we are growing, we have to switch back to Asana for security reasons. Security should be top of mind, not a last resort or wish list item.

It's a shame they introduced Projects at all. It's half baked and there's tons of users posting about how they thought it would be great only to be let down.

They need to pick up development again and finish it out. I'd love to use it. Really all I need is mobile access.

    Hi,

we miss access rights management for Pipedrive Projects! Not all projects can be shared with entire company. Having projects in CRM is extremely powerfull, but without access management, many companies will choose not to use it!

    Any workaround until solved?

Hi @Tibor Brunclik users who have Projects add-on permission will have equal access to all projects and information contained in this add-on, and there is no option to further restrict project visibility. I will merge your feedback with similar projects' related feedback by other users, so it becomes more visible to our product team.

OK, I understand it. I was asking for a solution. Making is more visible to your product team is first step. Thanks.

There’s no solution. Pipedrive projects is simple but this limitation makes it unusable. As a former VP of Product Management for 10+ years, I am shocked this was released. Big fail from a great company.
