Contacts that have left - email history

I want to archive or delete contacts that have since left their organisation but I want to retain the email or other (notes etc) history. Using a label (like "LEFT") is not great and the only way to see the person status on the organisation page would to do something like rename them "Jane Doe LEFT" - neither are very satisfactory. Is there a solution or workaround?

    Seems to me the best solution is what you mentioned by adding something to the person name field if you want to keep them in the database. An Alternative solution could be as simple as adding an asterisk to the name such as: *Jane Doe
