When losing a deal, is it better to mark as lost or move back to leads?

Its better to mark it as lost and create an activity to contact them again is whatever amount of time, 9 months, etc.

This largely depends on your sales process. We mark the Deal lost and Convert to a Lead and have our calling group start making calls again on the Lead at around 3 months out. Having a process that works for you is what makes the most sense, how does it fit into your overall sales process, who would you want following up on that lost Deal, etc.
