We use MS Teams for both collaboration and as our phone system. Can I configure teams as the default calling app?

Try to set up standard callto handler and set up teams as standard in your operating system or your explorer. This can be the solution.

You could possibly use Zimple's OneClick to create a button that triggers Make or Zapier to start a Teams call.

Hi @ortizmyers did you ever solve this nicely?

We use Microsoft Teams (I think it's actually called Microsoft 365 Business Voice) as our phone system and I want to get my sales team making outbound calls from this coming week. And record automatically things like - call attempted, unanswered, busy, don't call me again, call notes, etc - sounds super straightforward but I need to integrate APIs and zapier and so on? Please tell me you solved this :-)

@Mark Haller , I WISH i could say yes. We tried a number of different ways, then just gave up. Hopefully someone figure's it out, or they start to care about about a phone system boasting 80m monthly active users…

Hi @Mark Haller and @ortizmyers, there are no plans in the near future for integration with the Microsoft Teams phone system. But I can suggest checking out integrations with other phone systems listed on our Marketplace if you haven't already.

I don't understand why a separate Teams integration should be necessary. The integrations only ensure that, for example, an activity is created after the call, etc.

If you just want to press a button and then have Teams make the call, you can easily set Teams as your default call to handler in Explorer or on the computer and then Teams will open and make the call as soon as you click on a phone number in Pipedrive.

There is also already a team integration, which can be used, for example, to plan team meetings with the activities.

So what exactly should the teams integration be able to do that is not already possible as described above?

@Mark Haller What you want to do is already possible via the activities. For example, if you save an activity and have the activity type "Not achieved" and have selected it, you can see how often it was selected per day. For example, by selecting this activity type, you can also ensure that another activity is automatically created for the next day and an attempt is made to reach the customer again. We have developed a combination of a pipeline, activity types and automations specifically for this purpose, which can track exactly this. We'll be happy to set this up for you. @Manuel Oliveira your community work is really not good. Teams is wonderful for doing what both want, but you point to another phone integration. This is effort that is not necessary at all. If you still need support in the area of community management, just let us know.

Pipedrive gurus- I guess I expect it to function the same way the other plug ins you are advertising to work. So here you say - why do we need an integration to teams- I ask back why are you promoting the purchase on yet another call system when teams works but it isn’t seamless to Pipedrive. To answer your question- with it halfway integrated, why not complete the last piece to allow for teams calling which many of your members have. Teams calling does not integrate, track or function out of Pipedrive. It would be ideal to complete the teams integration to allow the products to work in totality rather than half way.

    Hi all,

Found an easy way to do this. Under 'Tools and Apps', select 'Phone Calls', Select 'Custom' and insert this:

    msteams://teams.microsoft.com/l/call/0/0?users=4:[number]

This assumes MS Teams is installed on the computer. You can also replace msteams:// by https:// but then you'll first get a landing page asking to open or install MS Teams.
