I'd like to try using a region to define a salesperson's area. I have this set up and working, but I don't know or can't see how to make sure the region I define has the states I want in it. Any help would be appreciated

You could use Mapsly to visualize the territories or visualize this in a BI tool like Tableau.

    Hi Amit,

Thanks, but I don't need that right now.

Can you help me on the question? Regions exist in Pipedrive, so I set up for Northeast, Southeast, Midwest, Southwest and West. They seem to come with their own states already loaded. I can't see how to tell it, for instance, "Give me NY and NJ only in the Northeast". I don't see any info on this here or on the web. Any help would be appreciated.

How do your regions exist in Pipedrive?

I set them up in the Data Fields as a custom field.

    Field name is "Region"

    Field type is "Multiple options"

Options are Midwest, Northeast, Southeast, Southwest and West

I pinned them to the Org detail view.

Using filters is your only option.

    Hi Amit,

That's disappointing. Not sure why Pipedrive would assume everyone has the same states in their regions.

To be clear, your recommending to use the filters on an excel spreadsheet for the info I have pulled off Pipedrive?

I don't believe pipedrive has the ability to associate a custom field with specific regions or zip codes by a created group. You can use the automatic assignment to assign leads to deals to a user based on specific criteria however.

Based on what you wrote above by using a custom field to define which region the org record is located in is not a bad idea though. However you said you used a "multiple option" field and I think you would want to use a single option field. Meaning you can only assign a single region to any given record.

Then you would use filters to drill down those records in that region.

@Amit Sarda - Pipedrive Consultant - AmitSarda.xyz mentioned mapsly and that is a tool you should check out as well. I find being able to map prospects using mapsly very useful. The built in google maps is nice but it isnt very good for prospecting activities such as phone calls or drop ins.
