Insights report for sales cycle duration in Pipelines that we do not "win" the deals?

I am looking for a way to create an insights report that will give me the average time spent in 3 of the pipeline stages in a pipeline that we do not ever mark the deals as "won". I have a pipeline with 5 stages. The first stage is a holding stage and I don't want that included in the average sales cycle time. The 5th stage is our "won" stage where we leave the deals without actually winning them. So what I need is a report that tells me the average time it takes a deal to move through the middle three stages to get to the last one? (Once in the last stage we leave them there forever so I don't want that stage to throw off the average sales Cycle. Similarly, the deals sit in the first stage for a while sometimes without being worked on so I don't want that first stage to be included in the report.) Thanks for the help!!!

    Hi Ed -

You can definitely create this report using a Deal Duration report.

When you add the filters to the report, ensure you include "Open" as one of the Statuses and a “Stage Entered” filter, selecting only the stages you want to include. Please see the screenshot below.

Ok thanks! And this filter will not be skewed by the deals that have moved through these three stages into the stage afterwards and are now just sitting in the last stage?

A combination of custom fields to capture the start date (first stage) and the end date (last stage), a Pipedrive automation workflow, a scenario using Make/Integromat or Zapier, and a report in Insights or Coupler + Google Sheets/Tableau should give you what you're looking for.

It is too bad that Pipedrive does not enable the use of the system's information on these reports. It would be pretty handy to include Lead conversion to deal time and actual time stamps when deal has moved from one phase of the pipeline to another as this information is available in the Pipedrive data.
