How do people track seeing contacts at events?

Any clever ways to do this? Would like to be able to flag people who are going to be at an event and when i've reached out to them/met them. Do you set up deal pipelines or other clever way?

My initial thought is to create a multi selection field in person details and use that for various tags for random things associated with the contacts. I suggest doing it this way to keep the number of fields to a minimum. I don't think you would want to create a new field for all the different events you attended or specific details about the contact.
