We currently have a handful of automations that get activated If the deal goes through a particular part of the pipeline into a specific stage.

We would like to have the ability to set an automation by selecting a field in the contact details or lead details to take it off any or all automation that the deal or contact is in.

What would you recommend?

    Hi @roger60 -

You can accomplish this by creating a new custom field and then adding a couple of steps to your current automation. Here’s how that could work:

Let’s say you create a new Person field called “Automation” and it’s a single option field with the option “Stop.” In your existing automation, do the following:

    1. Keep your trigger, same as it is
    2. ADD an “Update Deal” step - you don’t actually need to update anything, you just need to select “Deal Contact Person” from step #1 so that the condition will work
    3. ADD an “Instant Condition” step - here, you want to select from step 2 that “Automation” is empty (or, it would also work to do “Automation” is not “Stop”)
    4. Continue with the rest of the automation as you have it

You could do something similar with a field on the Deal instead of the Person as well, just depending on what works best for you.

Please feel free to reach out if you would like additional support.
