GDPR Compliance: Scheduled contact reviews and deletions
Hi! Looking for best practice / suggesting new functionality for the contact record, where the contact owner would be automatically notified to review their contact's data on a rolling basis with the length of time between reviews being configurable.
Also, would like functionality whereby if a contact record hasn't been updated in x number of years, then it is flagged for deletion. These are both pieces of functionality that will help with GDPR compliance as well as improving quality and accuracy of data that users will store.

Unfortunately at the moment our workflow automation feature doesn't support time based triggers just yet: https://www.pipedrive.com/en/academy/courses/never-forget-a-follow-up/chapters/workflow-automation
However, what you could do is set activities on contacts for some months or years in the future. Then when that activity pops up on your daily schedule, you could still automate that marking that activity for example triggers a deletion or perhaps triggers an email template sent to the customer to review some of their data.

Thanks @Mike van der Valk , is this in the roadmap for implementation or is there an app on the marketplace that can do this?
This is pretty important for GDPR compliance so would be great if there were an automated way to do this rather than the manual workaround of setting activities. Having this automatic would also be really good for data quality, and reminders to contact people, in a similar fashion to the way the "rotting deals" functionality works.

@Alex Micallef unfortunately it's not planned right now or in the marketplace. However, I'll double check with our team here if there are perhaps other solutions I might have missed

One other comment is that you can also filter out the contacts based up the "update time" field to see how old your contacts are and if they are ready for "review" @Alex Micallef

Thanks for looking into this for me @Mike van der Valk. If this changes and it is added to the roadmap please let me know

hey @Martijn van den Corput I checked your app's youtube tutorial and it looks like the data update is a manual process. do you have something that would more support contact-driven GDPR consent gathering?

@Benjamin Krause you don't have to, it just makes life easier. In Pipedrive you can always tag users if they have opted in or not. You can see how old your records are, you can find duplicates, you can delete content, etc. Only if you want to automate the process then third parties make life easier.
