Change Log and History For Leads is a Must Have

We recently had an issue with agents taking other agents leads and to our surprise, THERE IS NO CHANGE LOG FOR LEADS! There is no record what-so-ever. This is a HUGE vulnerability in the system and should be corrected immediately.

PS. I'm aware that you can configure Pipedrive to prevent users from changing the owner of leads and deals. However there are very legitimate reasons why an agent would need to change the owner to themselves, but for there to have NO HISTORY of this is INSANE!

Also there is NO WAY to see when the ORIGINAL lead was created for a deal, only when a lead was CONVERTED, we REALLY need this.

I really hope that we can get this implemented as soon as possible. Thanks

Hi Amit, that's quite the plug, sending a link to an article for $100 that explains the difference between deals and leads lol I'm pretty aware of the limitations of leads, but that doesn't mean that Pipedrive doesn't have a responsibility to improve it. What I'm asking for isn't difficult, unreasonable or illogical.

I believe I've read some of your articles before where you recommend using only deals and not leads. If we were a company that generated a few ultra-high intent leads a day I feel that may work, but we generate a high volume of leads from online forms that may not answer the phone or not qualify for our services and it muddies the water to just make them all deals.

Still response from any Pipedrive staff. C'mon guys, how can you grow and scale an organization that you have zero transparency into? This is 2025, let's get on board with the basic features of any CRM and get this implemented. Issues with agents costs a lot of time and money. Please and thank you.

    Hello @wonders,

I hope you are doing well today!

I understand how crucial this is, especially if you need users in your account to assign leads to themselves and can’t disable this permission.

If it's essential for you to track Lead owner changes, you can set up an automation to receive an email notification whenever a Lead owner is updated. Here’s a video demonstrating how to set it up: Video Link.

The same way you can setup an automation to send an email, you can also add the same information as a note under the Lead, so it stays there as a changelog.

I've shared this feedback with our developers, and hopefully, we can address it in the future.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

    Thanks Helio,

Unfortunately while this may work for a small business with a single hands on owner with a couple agents and generating a few leads a week, it's not really a viable solution for a company generating thousands of leads a month with a team of agents who need to have the ability to change the owner, and for multiple managers who need to be able to see this information.

As much as I don't want to, I may implement the note for ownership changes, but it's not about just tracking lead owner changes either. Any changes made to the lead values should be logged as well. At any given point, any agent or manager should be able to see who made changes to the lead information and when.

Thanks for replying. BTW the video didn't work but I do know how to set it up :)

Agreed. All changes should appear in the Changelog.
