Pipedrive Campaigns vs. Third Party Solution

Hello fellow Pipedrivers,

I am trying to decide which way to go, for a totally new list. Piepdrive Campaigns or something like MailChimp? This will be a list that might, at tops, reach five digits, but it's special interest, there will never be millions on it. Pipedrive Campaigns seems to be the natural solution, as it probably integrates seamlessly (does it, though?).

If I understand it correctly, the campaign feature uses your own Google / MS server to send the campaigns - is that correct? Apart from the limitations in recipients, that seems relatively similiar to the group mail feature. However, I am surprised that you can mass mail with your Google account - I thought there would be relatively strict limitations for this from Google.

Those who are using it - what are the pros and cons from your perspective? Would you make the same choice again if you started building a new, relatively low volume list?

I am also very put off by the problems that seem to persist for a week now, leaving Pipedrivers unable to use the feature at all, if I understand it correctly. The support and dev team appears to be out of their depths.

Any thoughts helping me making an informed decision would be very much appreciated. Thanks a lot! Sascha

    Hi @Sascha Lueken

Have you decided which way to go yet?

My 2 cents are that Pipedrive is great for straightforward campaigns (monthly newsletters, email sequences, welcome emails, etc.) - the deep integration with CRM data is a strong selling point. Oh, and I think Pipedrive Campaigns uses their own sending servers rather than Google/MS.

But if you need advanced email marketing features (multi-path journeys, AB testing, more design templates, omnichannel, advanced tracking) you may be better off with something like Mailchimp or Brevo.

Hello @Andrus Purde , Thanks a lot for your thoughts. I am using Pipedrive so far, but only to send out a PDF automatically. Will have a look at MailChimp as well. Thanks again!
