Ability to merge a new (web) lead with an existing deal

We have mandatory fields to put some discipline/rigor around qualification of deals. So when multiple (web) leads come through from various prospects about a pre-existing deal in particular, it becomes very tedious for staff to fill out the mandatory fields on each lead in order to convert them individually to deals before merging as fully fledged deals.
It would be so much better if a lead could be merged with a deal directly, with the existing pre-qualified deal overriding any conflicting/missing fields on the lead - much like how the deal-to-deal merge function works with one taking precedence.

The alternative involving archiving the duplicated lead is suboptimal as staff are challenged to override the linked the email corres consistently, and so corres that belongs to a deal remains stuck on an archived lead, disconnected.

    Yes, this is really missing. What suprises me, is that on an activity, you can search for a lead and deal in the same field, so it looks like they are at least very similar objects. Merging a lead into a deal would be a massive help. As it keeps the CRM organised. Creating a deal from a lead and merging the deals seems a step too far, plus it triggers automations and analytics for no good reason.

    I agree! This is a big miss that could make Pipedrive much more efficient.
