✉️ Exciting Updates to Email Linking 🔗
We’re happy to announce two enhancements to the email linking feature, designed to improve your workflow and data accuracy.
Linking email threads to items like deals, leads, and projects ensures clean, organized, and accessible data. It gives you a complete view of sales communication, making it easier to track interactions, manage deals efficiently, and ultimately close deals faster.
Previously, emails could only be linked through the Sales Inbox thread detail view, which many customers found inconvenient and time-consuming, especially for those who primarily work within detail views.
What’s new?
1️⃣ Linking across multiple locations: You can now manually link, unlink, and re-link email threads to items like deals, leads, and projects from various locations in Pipedrive, including:
- Detail views:
- Sales Inbox list view:
2️⃣ Admins can now manage email linking: In response to customer feedback, we’ve expanded manual linking permissions beyond thread owners to include Admins. Typically, Admins support sales teams by keeping CRM records clean, managing entity links, and ensuring data accuracy for better sales efficiency.
Rollout plan & documentation
We’ve started a gradual rollout, so some customers already have access to the update. Our goal is to make the update available to everyone by the end of 2024.

Hi @Brandon Wood 👋 With this release, we’re focusing on enabling email linking directly from detail views, which has been the most common request from our customers. The ability to link a single email thread – or individual emails from a thread – to multiple deals has also been suggested by our customers, and is definitely on our radar for future updates.
