Seperate Emails with Different Subjects Being Merged

Seems like others have had this problem and it was never addressed: https://community.pipedrive.com/discussion/11699/separate-email-conversations-being-merged-together

I change the subject line in gmail so that it will create a new conversation thread in pipedrive and it still connects it to the old thread.

I think it must be looking at the previous reply or something instead of the subject which is a pain.

Related, it would be great to be able to split an email conversation thread into 2 so I could attach the email to 2 different deals.

    Hi! Same here.

We're experiencing an issue where Pipedrive is merging two distinct email threads, even though they have different subjects. My Gmail client correctly keeps these threads separate.

    The subjects are:

    1. ND Bartec- cenová ponuka 2/2025
    2. FW: ND Bartec- cenová ponuka 4/2025 Ekotechnika

Upon checking the email headers, the first email of the second thread contains the Message-ID of the first email of the first thread in its References header. This seems to be the technical reason for the merge in Pipedrive, despite the clear difference in subject matter and date. Both threads are related to quotes for "ND Bartec" parts and involve the same companies/some of the same contacts.

This merging behavior isn't ideal as it mixes separate conversations.

    Thanks for looking into this.
